We left off with Wendy, John, Michael and the Lost boys preparing to leave Neverland. However, as you recall Hook found their home a while back and was now putting a plan into action, to steal Pan’s mother, Wendy. As everyone was leaving to go to the Darlings home in London, the pirates had been laying wait above for them all. Their plans were to , kidnap Wendy and make the boys walk the plank, Wendy was to be the pirates’ mother.
Meanwhile, Hook had found Peter Pan down below, fast asleep and dreaming. Even in his sleep, Peter appeared cocky to Hook, it angered him. He thought about slaying him in his sleep, but then remembered the vial of poison he carried with him and decided to put it in his medicine. When Peter awoke, he was about to drink that poison, but thankfully Tinkerbell saw and came to his rescue. She sucked every last drop of that poison into her mouth and began to falter and die. Luckily in Neverland, all one has to do to bring a fairy back to life is clap. And so….as with magic, children in their dreams, and Peter clapped Tink back to life.

As we know Peter came to the boys’ and Wendy’s rescue. He pretended to be the crocodile and it flustered Hook so much he went into hiding. This allowed Peter to hide in a dark closet and make strange sounds. One by one Hook sent his men in and each time they died by Peters sword. Hook went in but quickly returned back frazzled. In the end Peter punctured Hook with his blade and as he bled out, Hook ended up falling in the water where the crocodile lie waiting.

Art has a way of expressing feelings that we sometimes cannot express with words. It can make us feel and see exhiliration, the fantastical, hope, to places, dreams and . Here ends our time on the blog. Hoping your reading week goes swimmingly.

I find the ending to be sort of sad. Mr. Darling going to work in a dog pen going was comic relief, and the lost boys living with them was nice….but Peter being ever so alone tugged at my heart strings. And then the forgetfulness was tragic, first John and the lost boys forgetting Neverland and Peter, then Michael, and finally when Peter comes back the first time for spring cleaning without Tink and he cant recall who Tinkerbell is. Peter forgetting Tinkerbell, his last friend of his little crew was tragic. Fairies have short life spans. I often wonder, how the forgetful Peter can remember Wendy and her brothers and yet forget Tink, the lost boys and even the stories of Hook. It is so sad, but thus begins the tradition of spring cleaning with Wendy, then as she ages, Wendy’s daughter and so on, each daughter picking up after their mother has grown older.
This story touched in many way, in ways of adventure, danger, hope and dreaming, in ways of time and how fleeting it is, and the importance of love, family and security…because after all those years, the one person Peter remembered the most is his mother, Wendy. In what way has Peter Pan touched you the most?
