A Fairy Godmother, A Prince and Some History

I love a story that brings you to desperation just before something brilliant happens. Cinderella, as she has fully become, dresses in her mothers gown just before her step mother and sisters leave for the ball. Tragically, when she greets them they not only mock her, but tear apart her dress. This is when Ella has lost her last bit of hope.

As she weeps in the garden an old hobbled woman shows up begging for food. Ella stops her tears and recognizes that this woman has it worse, begging on the streets while Cinderella has plenty of food and drink. Eagerly she offers her food, when the old lady transfroms into a young beautful woman glowing in a silver dress. She explains that she is her fairy godmother and proceeds to work her magic.

As we know, Cinderella goes to the ball in a stunning blue gown and carriage. She meets Mr. Kit and recognizes him as the prince. There they dance, followed by exploring a secret garden. Kit is entranced by her. He is certain that with her lovely dress and glass slippers she must be roylaty. He is hoping she is as to make his father and the duke happy.

It seems the two are fit for one another with their temperaments and beliefs. Do you find it important to be so similar in a relationship? Having the same goals, ideals and belief systems certainly would help in a romantic relationship. Your desitinations would end in the same place and you could spur each other on to it. However it also nice to have some differences so you can learn from one another.

About the Author

Charles Perrault was a french writer. He was a poet, storyteller and best known for writing his own version of Cinderella. Charles enjoyed writing fairy tales and prose, but in actuality his training was in law. He held charge of many royal buildings and eventually became the chief tax collector in Paris. His fame for writing grew in 1660 with the publication of some verse and poetry he had written. He is known for putting a modern spin on stories like “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Puss in Boots” and “Sleeping Beauty.” These were re written to amuse his own children.

It just goes to show you can shine in more than one avenue. Where do you shine? Have you put forth some daily effort get somewhere with your talents? Who knows you could be the next author or even tax collector.
