Preparing for the New Year

I realize we have already arrived at 2023, but when I began this post it was Christmas week. As I look back on the previous year, I am inspired to think on goals for the new year. I believe my goal for 2023 will to build relationship and whimsy. I love making things magical and beautiful, but what’s more important is the relationship that is built upon these memories. There are personal and family goals that pertain to faith, academics, friendship, health and whimsy.

The goal I have been brainstorming the most are the book clubs I am in. I have started a mother/daughter book club with another friend and we are beginning with “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Our book club consists of two moms and two eight year old girls, naturally we will be having snacks, games, questions and a craft. It is to be a party of sorts, a party revolving around books.

In January for Tea Time Book Club we are reading ‘The Verdigris Pawn.” I must admit since we are in mid January I am already half way through the story. I really love it, it involves an evil king, an innocent heir and a charmer….a little magic, a journey and a kingdom. It actually goes in theme with my off the cuff big plans I have intended for February, which entails fairytales and romance.

I have big plans for February, the month of love. Tea Time Book Club will be reading “Emma.” That covers the romantic comedy aspect. I am still planning out the next mother/daughter fairytale read for February. I have plans for activities, food, crafts and games. February needs something special amidst all the grey and dreariness that it is. There has been no snow here, but lots of rain.

I will give the big reveal of the living room in my next post, it is all decked out for Narnia, since I will be hosting the book club event. I am so late in getting this post out. My goal is to make my posts shorter and more consistent for 2023.

My other goal is find healthier versions for snacks. I have given in to all my dessert desires and my pants are not happy with me. I will still indulge but I must make some minor changes for the spring. This post has been all over the place. There was no really beginning, middle and end, but I fear if I don’t post now, it will never get out. So I will say adieu for now and wish you well.
