I remember one year in the fall my daughters and I had a girls night. Dad was out of town so we ordered pizza, ate pop tarts and watched a whole lot of Gilmore Girls. We had such fun and of course I plan on doing something similar this year. Of course it doesn’t have to be the show, it can be any movie really, this year we will watch a chick flicks or classic. I remember when we did this, we even dressed the part. (Scroll to the bottom to see our themed night a few years ago) Everyone took a character and dressed like them for the night. Want to do the same? Here’s what you will need to do.

Order lots of Food…and not just any food, red vines, pizza, Chinese food, pop tarts, Cheetos, popcorn, cookie dough, gummies etc. Take your pick, my girls love all food, but these items make the list on the show.

Look up some Gilmore Girls Trivia. You can find some fun questions about the show on the button below. It’s fun to see who knows the most about the characters.

Pick out a movie that the Gilmore Girls watched. I try and err on the side of wholesome, so I go for PG and some selective PG-13. Some of the movies that Lorelai and Rory watched were Casablanca, Dumbo, Ben-Hur, Willy Wonka, Bewitched, Babe, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Benji.

Create your own steaming pot of coffee, tea or cocoa. My go to is cocoa or tea, fun fact: Alexis Bledel wasn’t a fan of coffee in real life so she used coke as a substitute on the show. Get cozy with blankets, sweatpants and slippers. This is why movies nights are perfect for fall weather!

All in all, the purpose of a movie night is to relax, have fun and bond over some cinematic genius. Now who is ready for goofy picture of us? Can you guess what characters we are? This was from August 2021. What can I say, I am a die hard fan of Gilmore Girls. Happy wacthing!
